A five-star recruit who enrolled at Ohio State at age 17 last year, Styles is ready to prove he can do it all for the Buckeyes.
, you wouldn’t notice that he is one of the youngest players on the roster. As a 6-foot-4, 230-pound defensive back, he looks older, even if in reality this should be his freshman season. He reclassified last year, starting college early as a 17-year-old five-star prospect.. But there’s not a scared bone in Styles’ body.
“He could be at free safety and understand it’s a halfback screen and he’ll come from 12 yards down,” Lomonico said. “He just sees it.” It forced Ohio State to come up with a streamlined plan for Styles. The benefit is that Styles’ knowledge of the game has continued to mature.“Don’t assume anything with Sonny,” Knowles said. “He’s extremely talented and can do it all.”
“Going back to play his senior year, we talked about that not being a good thing for him, because his body type and skill level was so much more superior than everybody that he would create bad habits for himself,” Lorenzo Sr. said. “We knew at worst-case scenario that he would be in the weight room around guys where he had to utilize more than just his physical attributes.
