After being at the centre of an odd social media conspiracy about her health, the Princess of Wales will be returning to the royal spotlight in the weeks to come - where is she recovering and why does it have a scandalous past?
The Princess of Wales has been out of the spotlight since Christmas as she continues with her recovery following abdominal surgery. But, despite not being expected to appear back in public until after Easter, Kate has been at the centre of a bizarre social media conspiracy theory in recent days.
The Princess of Wales underwent abdominal surgery at the London Clinic last month and spent two weeks recuperating there before heading back home to continue her recovery at the family's Adelaide Cottage home in Windsor. Prince William temporarily stepped back from royal duties to care for his wife and their three children, Prince George, ten, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five.
This was something which former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond explained there was no rush for. She told OK!: "I’m not sure William And Kate will be that fussed about the situation. They chose Adelaide cottage because they wanted to give the children a more normal lifestyle. Nestled in the heart of the Crown Estate's private 655-acre royal park, Adelaide Cottage was built in 1831 as a retreat for King William IV’s wife, Queen Adelaide.
A former RAF pilot and later an equerry to King George VI, Townsend embarked on a famous love affair with Princess Margaret. Their relationship was particularly sordid as Peter was a divorced man who was 16 years older than her. "But mindful of the Church's teachings that Christian marriage is indissoluble, and conscious of my duty to the Commonwealth, I have resolved to put these considerations before others. I have reached this decision entirely alone, and in doing so I have been strengthened by the unfailing support and devotion of Group Captain Townsend."
