A person called police around 3:30 p.m. Sunday to report at least two people trying to gain access to a garage where a Range Rover was parked inside, police said.

“In response to these types of incidents, Middletown Police Department has taken very proactive measures to increase our presence in these areas,” Deputy Chief Paul Bailey said Tuesday. “We urge the public to ensure their vehicles are locked. Remove their key fobs and bring them into an area of a house where the vehicles no longer sense those key fobs.”
