Amazing and amAAAzing are not the same thing.
“When a woman says ‘amAAAzing’ what she actually means is ‘Omigod, this is not about me and I don't care and I’m a little insecure about it, but i want to make sure I’m being a good feminist and saying ‘amazing’ back but in actuality it’s boring,'” Shlesinger jokes during her rapid-fire routine that deconstructs feminism, shaming culture and the weird aspirational violence of “Slay All Day” tote bags.
The special comes as Shlesinger prepares for The Forever Tour, which will kick off Jan. 24 at Straz Center in Tampa, Fla., with stops in Australia, Vietnam, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Hungary, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Finland, Norway and Ireland.
