Piedmont High School senior Jasper Zietlow is a National Merit Scholarship semifinalist for 2023. These students across the country’s will be considered for the 7,250 National Merit Scholarships worth about $28 million to be awarded this spring.To become a semifinalist the high school must submit a scholarship application, which includes a student’s academic record, leadership abilities, honors and awards and more.
Besides Zietlow, eight Piedmont High students were named to National Merit Commended status. They are Alexander Aubrecht, Benjamin Kra-Caskey, Hamza Mahood, Evan Manolis, Quinn Reilly, Julia Shalev, Russell Tam and Chelsea Yi.Enjoy a German meal and some artisanal beers at the 10th annual Piedmont Beer Festival from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Piedmont Center for the Arts, 801 Magnolia Ave. in Piedmont.
