In addition to supporting the medical needs of animals in shelter care, the EBSPCA’s full‐service veterinary clinic serves East Bay clients’ pets as one of just four California animal shelters with an AAHA-accredited veterinary practice.
Throughout July, parking restrictions from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays will take place on parts of El Cerrito and Winsor avenues, Palm Drive and at 255 Park View Ave. No construction work will be done on July 4, so parking restrictions will not be enforced. Rebuilt courtesy of the Piedmont Beautification Foundation , the family of Denny McLeod and other supporters, the aging concrete and railroad ties of the former walkway and steps have been replaced with a concrete stairway with multiple landings, a decorative metal handrail, new trees and native shrubs donated by the Piedmont Garden Club .
City staff and a subcommittee created by the Recreation Commission expect responses to the survey that closes Sunday to help the city gauge the interest and demand for the now-popular sport. Significant response has already arrived by email, in community petitions and during public comment at Recreation Commission meetings.
