A few behind the scenes of director Simon Lereng Wilmont's Oscar-nominated film,"A House Made of Splinters.""I think childhood can be the most traumatic period that can affect our whole life," Simon Lereng Wilmont, the Danish director behind "The House Made of Splinters," told ABC News. "Mine was like that so I became interested in filming children.

"But when they get used to the camera and then let it into the sensitive parts of their life you see what a huge world is inside this child," he added. The film also shows that there's a dark side of this safe bubble, with the psychological problems that the kids and their teachers face in the shelter.
