Top-ranked women’s tennis player Iga Swiatek had her 37-match winning streak snapped after falling to Alize Cornet in the third round of Wimbledon.

"It reminds me of the time I beat Serena on the same court, eight years ago exactly," Cornet said after the win."I think this court is a lucky charm for me."

Swiatek, after dropping the first set, jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second. Cornet responded with six straight games to complete the stunning upset and end a remarkable run. For the 21-year-old Swiatek, a two-time Grand Slam champion, the loss ends what had been the longest streak in women's tennis since Venus Williams's 35-match streak in 2000.
