Steve Davis was dubbed Mr. Boring of snooker and now he DJ's techno gigs at Glastonbury
Steve Davis dominated snooker during its glory days of the 1980s but he has since put the cue away and brought out the decks.5But that is exactly the path Davis has taken, having been branded Mr Boring not that long ago.in 2019, he said: "I didn’t know my life would turn out like this. You haven’t got a clue... it’s ridiculous.”
Taking to the stage at Glastonbury, Davis formed a band called The Utopia Strong, playing techno music to progheads with the snooker legend on modular synth.“I started off as a snooker player practising for eight hours a day in a dark room, and I ended up at Glastonbury DJing.Credit: https://www.instagram.com/stevesnookerone47/Davis was once regarded as the best snooker player in the world, reaching eight World Championship finals in nine years in the 1980s and winning six of them.
For seven consecutive seasons, he held the spot of No. 1 in the world during a time when Alex Higgins, Cliff Thorburn and Ray Reardon were all clambering for the biggest prizes.
