Residents in Platt Bridge say they've never heard of anything like this happening nearby
Residents of a quiet neighbourhood have spoken of their shock after a woman was stabbed in Wigan woodland this morning.
Residents bordering the vast Amberswood Common woodland, which surrounds Ince-in-Makerfield, Hindley and Platt Bridge, explained they have never experienced such a shocking incident. Jeffery Hart has lived in the area since 1979 and was a member of Wigan Council. Brian Aspinall is another long-time resident of the area, now 77, he moved to his home in 1969. "I've lived here for more than 40 years, you have neighbours falling out over parked cars - that's about it.Officers are said to have remained in the area this afternoon to conduct enquiries. Eyewitnesses walking in the area of woodland at the time described seeing police and paramedics swarm the area this morning.
