An A&E consultant in the north of England has given a harrowing account of the current state of the NHS ➡️ They invited the Prime Minister to spend a day with them “to witness this massive human tragedy for yourself” 🔴 Exclusive from PMGallagher1

“Let me tell you some that might be in that number,” the consultant said. “The 89-year-old who fell in the bathroom who called an ambulance but couldn’t get one for nine hours, so the sepsis which had caused him to fall killed him. Had I seen him within a couple of hours it could have been avoided. Maybe.

“Another friend of mine said she felt like it was a war zone. It is. We have been firefighting for at least a decade. The NHS consultant invited Rishi Sunak to spend the day on shift with them to witness the chaos inside hospitals first-hand. “I went into Resus [the area where people with potentially life-threatening conditions will be taken when they arrive at hospital] – it reminds me with horror of Covid. It’s all influenza. A young healthy man with a wife and children died of influenza in front of me. ‘We did everything’. In that moment we did. Except get him to hospital sooner, except get him medical advice sooner, except get him in a bed sooner.

“I had surgical colleagues reviewing their patients in store cupboards that have been emptied out and a couch put in them. In cupboards that are still cupboards because that is the only way to afford privacy.” “I had friends working in emergency departments and other specialties also working that day, and my phone was a constant stream of conversation and comparison. They were as far flung as Manchester, Cornwall, London. The stories were the same. We were all fairing as badly as one another.”
