Tensions between Palatka Mayor Terrill Hill and Putnam County Sheriff Homer “Gator” DeLoach continue to rise.

“Mayor Hill told the newspaper he has never interfered with a traffic stop and supports the police working closely with the community they serve. That is a false narrative,” DeLoach said.“For these reasons, I demand you tenure your resignation as mayor of Palatka immediately and irrevocably,” DeLoach said.“I welcome an ethics investigation on me,” Hill said. “Because I know what my character is and I know what I’ve done and I know what I haven’t done.”“I still sit in the seat,” Hill said.
Hill said that since 1999, he’s committed himself to helping community members fight racism, bigotry and promote unity. He said DeLoach has continually attempted to portray him in a negative light.
