At least nine people have died following Hurricane Ian's lashing throughout Florida, according to an NBC News tally.
Crystal MinayaSarasota Vice Mayor Kyle Battie told MSNBC on Thursday his home “looked like a war zone” in the wake of Hurricane Ian.Sarasota, on the west coast of Florida not far from where Ian made landfall, was hit with hurricane-force winds. “A number of downed trees, and some home damage, due to the wind,” he said.
