The 60-year-old victim was struck by a vehicle on the A6091 near Melrose in the Scottish Borders at around 9.50pm on Sunday 12 March. The woman was taken to the nearby Borders General Hospital and was later transferred to the Royal Infirmary ofPolice said the driver failed to stop after the collision and enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances.confirmed that the drivers of a silver Ford Fiesta, a red hatchback and a small white hatchback have since come forward and been eliminated from the investigation.
However, officers are keen to speak to the drivers or witnesses who saw a dark-coloured SUV and a 4x4 at the time of the crash. In a new public appeal, Chief Inspector Vinnie Fisher said:"It is vital that we do trace those involved. A woman has been seriously injured and she and her family deserve to know what has happened."Read more Scotland news:
