The Courtyard Pantry Enterprise has launched a project where people can join for £1 and buy groceries worth £10 to £15 for a further £2.50 after receiving a £10,000 donation.
A project to tackle food poverty in the north of Glasgow will run a “game-changing” series of community meal events which will allow people to buy up to £15 of food for just £2.50 over the winter months.
The registered charitable organisation plans to run four community meal events every month between November and March – each catering for 30 people and covering all dietary and cultural requirements. Dale Todd, coordinator of The Courtyard Pantry Enterprise, said he was delighted their funding bid had been accepted. He commented: “We are looking forward to launching the Community Meal project in the coming months, to help reduce social isolation and to provide a bit of comfort to folk in the community.
