According to the investigator's report, two primates accidentally hanged themselves.When necessary for research, the animals involved “should be cared for under strict, humane guidelines,” Pfaeffle said.But the FDA isn’t responsible for ensuring humane treatment of animals; that falls to the USDA and AAALAC.
