Humane Society seeking tips after dog found abandoned and 'near death' in Escondido [Breaking]
Authorities turned to the public for help this week in a felony animal cruelty investigation after a dog was abandoned and was later euthanized in Escondido.
The small dog was “near death,” malnourished, missing hair and had thick, crusty skin, the organization said.The dog was rushed to the organization’s Escondido Campus, where a veterinary team performed medical care and watched over the little dog for a week. They named the dog Champ. Lt. Regina Price, who is with the organization’s Humane Law Enforcement division, said the dog was already suffering when it was abandoned on “an extremely cold night without shelter.”
