A FIRE has triggered explosions in Omaha, where first responders are battling a massive three-alarm blaze at a chemical production company.
Residents near the burning building have been urged to evacuate because of thick, black smoke pouring into downtown.Walls have reportedly collapsed and explosions were heard as firefighters battle the raging fireLightning could be seen during the fire fight, as storms threaten the Omaha areaCredit: Twitter/heymoolyA shelter in place warning was initially issued as the flames spread.
"Still an active fire scene at 1415 S. 20th St. We are at a 3 alarm fire at this time," the fire department said in an update. "We are recommending evacuations from 13th to 20th Leavenworth to Martha, due to the smoke from the fire."
