The delay to the construction of HS2 has sparked industry fears that other rail upgrades could now be pushed back, further hammering the Government’s levelling up agenda singharj reports:

It came as a former Government adviser and ally of Mr Johnson, the former prime minister who was the architect of the levelling up agenda and an advocate of infrastructure spending, said the HS2 delay was “deeply disappointing”. “And teams are dispersed, engineering expertise is sent elsewhere, isn’t it really the case that the project is being dismembered and may never now be resurrected or at least it will be a wholly new project if it ever is?”
