A woman was killed in a shooting with men robbing her husband during a home invasion at an east Houston apartment complex Sunday night, according to police.
by the East Freeway in the Northshore area. Police said investigators believe the shooting started as a home invasion but are still piecing together what happened.
Officers responded to a call of shots fired. When police arrived at the scene, they learned that two men tried to rob a husband and wife at the complex. Police said gunfire was exchanged and the wife tried to shoot at the men robbing her husband. A struggle ensued and eventually the woman was shot.“It does look like there was, there were shots fired both into and out of the apartment, but the crime scene people are just beginning the investigation of the apartment. So they have not found a weapon yet,” HPD Lt. Stephen Casko said.
No one else was in the apartment then, but officers said two children were outside the home. The husband, who was not hurt, told police he knew the men, but their relationship is not clear at this time.KHOU would like to send you push notifications about the latest news and weather.
