Authorities with the Houston Police Department are trying to determine if two separate shooting scenes in west Houston are connected.
According to HPD, one person had been shot in the leg. Officers also responded to an apartment complex on Wilcrest where they reportedly found a man shot in the head.
Police said the first shooting took place at the Avenstar complex. The victim was driving at the time of the incident and then hit three nearby cars after being shot. Less than a mile away on Wilcrest, officers found Houston fire units working on a driver of a Camry. A witness at the scene reported seeing masked men and hearing the gunshots.
“Initially, she saw three males in masks run towards her so she was scared and then she heard a loud crash and three gunshots. To her discovery, she saw that the Camry behind me crashed and that’s when she found the victim, the gunshot victim, shot in the head,” HPD’s Lt.
