Women who are forced to quit work earlier than expected because of the menopause have been urged to consider the effects on their pension ➡️ Data shows they could miss out on £126,000 in retirement

Money & Business ReporterWomen who are forced to quit work earlier than expected because of the menopause have been urged to consider the effects on their pension, as data shows they could miss out on £126,000 in retirement.

A 50-year-old woman in full time work until the state pension age of 67 could be better off by more than £126,000 in pension savings, when compared to a counterpart who stopped working at the same age, research from asset manager Royal London shows. Both calculations are based on a pension fund of £100,000 at age 50, and assume a salary of £40,000 a year with wage growth of 2.5 per cent until the state pension age of 67. It also assumes investment growth of 5 per cent and monthly contributions of 10 per cent.
