London's Ultra Low Emission Zone will expand to all borough's across the capital from 29 August
up to the capital’s borders, meaning anyone travelling into the zone will have to pay a £12.50 charge.scrappage scheme, which will now enable all Londoners to claim up to £2,000 when they are replacing their non-compliant cars.What is the new eligibility?but you must have a non-compliant vehicle.
People can claim up to £2,000 for cars or £1,000 for motorcycles. For wheelchair accessible vehicles there is a payment of £10,000 to scrap, or £6,000 to retrofit the vehicle to the Ulez standards. The business part of the scheme is limited to those with under 50 employees, up to 10 employees, sole traders and registered charities.
When making the decision to widen the scrappage scheme on 4 August, Mr Khan said: “I have continued to listen to the concerns of Londoners over recent months and today I can announce a huge expansion to the scrappage scheme that means that all Londoners with non-Ulez-compliant cars will now be able to get financial support to switch to greener, less polluting vehicles.
