The strike by the United Auto Workers union could even tip large swaths of the Midwest into recession.The union and management were back at the negotiating table on Wednesday, but there was no sign of a quick conclusion to a walkout that began Monday over pay, benefits, the use of temporary workers and the fate of several plants. GM isn't the only one affected by the work stoppage.
