🍷🍺 How the 2023 budget could affect alcohol duty and drinks prices
It’s predicted the Treasury’s duty increase for all alcoholic drinks coming in to force in August, will be at least 10 per cent, if not more Chancellor Jeremy Hunt will deliver his spring Budget to the House of Commons tomorrow, so what will be the impact on the price
Previously expected to end in February of this year, last December the government announced it was furtherHowever it’s expected that at tomorrow’s budget alcohol duty will come back with a vengeance. It’s predicted that the Treasury’s duty increase for all alcoholic drinks coming in to force in August, will be at least 10 per cent, if not more. This is based on a recent figure of 10 per cent from the Retail Price Index for inflation.
