Uvalde school district interim superintendent Gary Patterson stopped short of finding fault with a state trooper involved in “an unfortunate situation at Flores Elementary.”

at the elementary school during a national protest against the lack of action taken by the state and federal government to counter school shootings. Students Demand Action had called on kids nationwide to walk out.

“An increased amount of patience, planning, understanding, and commitment to our community is needed to avoid further incidents like those this past Wednesday,” the statement continued. “I attempted to talk with but all she wanted to do is talk over me and start to get loud again,” the trooper wrote. “ remained loud and emotional even after her son arrived and was outside. yelled out as she left, saying, 'When your daughter is murdered on school grounds, then you can talk to me, sir.’”
