Despite the challenges, Lizak knew she had the strength to finish. At her home in Marina del Rey, California, she balances training between 120 and 150 miles per week with working as chief investment officer for Axle Companies, a real estate investment firm. She often breaks up her mileage by running 10 to 12 miles in the morning and six miles at night, though sometimes she’ll wake up at 4 a.m. to run 20 miles before work.
