The annual camp fest was not always so well received on these shores despite several wins

In the 80s homophobia was still rampant and national newspapers found it acceptable to write about “poofters”, “perverts” and “freaks”.

GJ Kooijman, who hosts a Dutch podcast about Eurovision and is a presenter on OutTV, a European LGBTQ TV channel, thinks so and argues thatGraham Norton will again be in the commentary booth for the Eurovision grand finale
