Ryan Day has announced that Kyle McCord will start in Ohio State's season opener against Indiana.
Elite 11in recent years since Day took over. Starting with Haskins’ earning the honor in 2015, six others who have either signed or transferred to Columbus have done so as well, with the latest being 2024 five-star quarterback Air Noland.
McCord committed to Ohio State 18 months before his Signing Day and never wavered from that decision. He committed as the nation’s No. 112 player and No. 8 pro-style quarterback. But after spending the last three years winning PIAA 6A State Football Championships while breaking state records, he’d developed into a five-star prospect rated as the No. 28 player and No. 6 quarterback.“If you’re going to go to a school like Ohio State, or Alabama or Clemson, there’s going to be competition at every single position, especially at quarterback,”.
