The 'Wonder Woman 1984' trailer features the reveal that Chris Pine will be back as Steve Trevor, leaving fans wondering how he can possibly be alive nearly seven decades after the first film.
"When we thought of the story for this film while we were making the first film, a eureka moment came and it couldn't have been told without Chris Pine playing Steve Trevor," said Jenkins.
"So I promise you it's not a gimmick, it's integral to the story, it was incredibly important that we had him and we just super enjoyed it. So it was great having Chris back but it's also important to the story that I can't wait for you to see."trailer suggested the four possible ways that Trevor could be brought back:"I wonder what they'll use for explaining his return.
However, the trailer seems to hint that his return has something to do with the new villain Max Lord, as portrayed by The Mandalorian himself, Pedro Pascal. In one moment in the trailer after Trevor and Diana Prince/Wonder Woman are reunited, we hear the villain say,"Now, I take what I want in return," suggesting Lord has brought Trevor back in exchange for a favor from Wonder Woman.As Lord says this he is seen holding a strange crystal of some sort.
These are both possibilities, but there is a more likely theory that spells bad news for people hoping that Trevor is really back.comic books, the character has the power to control others mentally. This suggests that in the movie he uses these powers initially to persuade people they want what he is selling, but his powers could be so extensive that he can make Diana believe she is seeing Trevor when he is, in fact, just a hallucination.
The full explanation behind Trevor's return, however, is unlikely to come before the movie is released next summer.
