“I had huge imposter syndrome, like ‘Oh my god, did they choose the right person?!’” XOKitty
Even though she had loved the arts for as long as she could remember, Kim followed her parents wishes and worked a 9 to 5 job after graduating college. However, when she felt lost and stuck amidst an unhappy relationship, she began questioning herself: “What am I doing to be happy?” she wondered.
Numerous battles with her family and a pact with her mom later, Kim received permission to pursue her passion of performing as a career. She attended the Art of Acting Studio in Los Angeles, and soon she began attending auditions all while waiting tables at a restaurant to support herself., her first major project, and one she never thought she’d get. “When my manager told me, I just broke down,” Kim says.
That’s why her first major breakthrough as a rising actress, playing a role with someone of her heritage and filming in Seoul, her birthplace, made the part all the more special. However, not everything was easy once she landed the role. Kim still had one thing she needed to do: overcome her imposter syndrome.
