Houston wind turbine manufacturer hit with $293K in OSHA fines
The Houston plant of Proinlosa Energy Corp., which has been fined for safety violations by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration, was toured in 2012 by then-Deputy Energy Secretary Daniel Ponemon.A Houston manufacturer of parts for wind turbines has been fined more than $280,000 for failing to address repeated workplace safety violations.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration found violations in an April 2022 inspection of a plant operated by., a unit of Spain's Proinlosa's Group, and again in a follow-up November inspection, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. The facility is located just west of Bush Intercontinental Airport.
In the November inspection OSHA also found that the company did not have a program in place to isolate certain machinery or equipment from its energy source when employees serviced or maintained it, creating a situation where an unexpected release of energy could injure a worker, according to the citation.
