And now the dining public can get its eager hands and drooling mouths on the famed OG Burger at the brand’s first restaurant housed in the former James Coney Island space at S. Shepherd and Richmond., is now being described as an “extended pop-up location.” According to a press release, the 3,236-square-foot restaurant will operate as a pop-up for six months while Trill Burgers finds a permanent home in the Houston area.
However long it’s open, the restaurant is sure to be mobbed. In fact, Bun B and his team timed the news of the opening only an hour before the 11 a.m. open-to-the-public time out of “capacity and safety considerations.” The day has been a long time coming for Bun B and his partners, restaurateur Andy Nguyen, public relations specialist Nick Scurfield, and chefs Mike Pham and Fernando Valladares.“It’s been a dream for us, and it’s actually coming true,” Bun B stated. “It’s been our sole goal to open up an establishment where we can serve you guys Trill Burgers consistently at a high level on a daily basis. And now we’re ready to do it.
So, what’s on the menu? Trill Burgers will serve the original OG Burger of two all-beef smash patties on a potato roll bun tricked out with special sauce, pickles, caramelized onions and American cheese. There’s also a vegan OG Burger ; a Triple OG, a Triple Vegan OG, a Baby G, a Vegan Baby G, and seasoned fries, washed down with Texas-proud Dr Pepper, the store’s exclusive fountain drink provider.
A few things customers need to know: The restaurant is cashless and currently offers dine-in and walk-up ordering only. No online or phone ordering is available, and there are no third-party delivery services or apps to get Trill Burgers. The restaurant’s soft opening hours will be daily 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; additional hours will be announced later.
