Tiffany Thompson believes there's no therapy better than snuggling an animal. Based on the success of her business, she may be right.in Brookshire, seeking inner calm and peace in the form of cuddly farm critters. The 12-acre farm hosts a cadre of goats, bunnies, miniature pigs, cows, miniature horses, chickens and other livestock, all of which serve one purpose: creating a sense of peace.
Thompson didn't originally set out to open a therapy farm. While working as a yoga instructor, Thompson began integrating baby goats into her outdoor classes in 2018. She quickly learned her students enjoyed the animals as much — if not more — than the yoga. Thompson's business exploded. She moved to a larger farm to accommodate growing class sizes, and she began adding more animals.The original landowners of her new land left her with a few horses, she said, and then she rescued a cow. Once she began rescuing the animals, more and more started arriving on scene. People gave her their unwanted pigs, chickens and ducks, and she even rescued a tortoise.
In addition to general admission, Rose Therapeutic Farm offers special events like snuggle sessions with baby goats, pumpkin carving, picnics and, of course, goat yoga. The farm also offers private events.
