At the service line, the Raiders racked up 13 aces, including four from Emily Adams and three each from Rutland and Molly Magrino. Aman, Sinquefield and Kaleigh Heard added one each. “The defense played amazing, getting to the balls and getting the balls right into our setters’ hands, allowing us to run plays,” Braswell said.
Ashford grabbed three early leads in the second set at 1-0, 2-1 and 3-2 behind two kills from Amiyah Lewis off assists from Emma Helms, but the Raiders broke a 4-4 tie with eight points during Adams’ service rotation to take command. The Jackets cut the margin to six at 12-6, but the Raiders again stayed in control on way to winning the set, 25-16.Lewis finished with 10 kills and seven digs and Emma Helms had 11 assists and two aces to lead Ashford.
