House Republicans will have a member-only policy meeting on Thursday focused on the investigations and oversight efforts by House committees.
The policy meeting will have briefing and updates from Chairmen James Comer of Oversight, Mark Green of Homeland Security, Jim Jordan of Judiciary, and Jason Smith of Ways and Means, according to an email obtained by the Washington Examiner. The chairman will be talking to their fellow House Republicans about the investigations their committees are conducting concerning the Biden administration.
Following whistleblower testimony from two IRS employees that alleged the Department of Justice interfered with U.S. Attorney David Weiss’ criminal investigation into Hunter Biden, Smith, Comer, and Jordan’s committees have begun to work together to investigate the misconduct during the investigation.
Comer’s Oversight Committee has been looking into an unverified FBI-generated FD-1023 that alleged Hunter Biden and then Vice-President Joe Biden were each paid $5 million by the head of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company where Hunter Biden was a board member. The payments were allegedly for the Bidens to put pressure on the Ukrainian government to fire Viktor Shokin, a prosecutor allegedly investigating Burisma.
