House of the Dragon star reveals her reaction to landing the role
The actress said when she was auditioning for the role she really questioned if it was the right decision as she knew it would be a huge show and she wasn't sure she wanted that kind of popularity.
However, she ultimately landed the role, and that was when she really wondered if she'd made the right choice as she knew her life was about to change"in a really scary way".When I was auditioning, I was definitely like: 'I don't know if this is what I want for my life.' But then I got to see the first two scripts, and it was good," she toldShe explained:"It felt amazing. But then also, obviously – oh my God," she said.
This may well be because, as suspected, millions of viewers have tuned in to see her play Alicent Hightower in the HBO series. "I've worked for a decade and I've done what I thought – or what everyone told me – would be the thing, and still managed to live very anonymously."
