The team that created a sensation with its haunted house at Rolling Oaks Mall last fall is getting a jump on the scary season by opening a selfie spot dubbed Horrific Pix Horror Studios.

"There are 13 rooms with different themes. The idea is that you can come in with a group and take some selfies, or schedule time to come in with a photographer for a private studio session. If you wanted to put a band in there and shoot a video, or if you're making a paranormal film, some of these things can be used for sets."The grand opening is Aug. 6, and the plan is for Horrific Pix to be open year-round. Hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
