Hong Kong’s first UK exchange foray clouds second, says ClaraMarquesRTR:
Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing said on Sept. 13 that it believes that a combination with London Stock Exchange Group represents a “highly compelling strategic opportunity”.
It said its board was “disappointed” in the LSE’s rejection.HKEX made a cash and shares offer for LSE on Sept. 11, valuing the UK company at almost 30 billion pounds. LSE rejected the offer on Sept. 13.
