‘Herby Goes Bananas.’ For a while, I was drinking it nearly every evening. It’s just that good. Smooth is almost too cliché of a word to describe it. Slyly suave would be more accurate. It’s both rich and light at the same time, making it such a fantastic Cognac to pair with dessert…or a bad mood. Terrible day at work? Going through a divorce? Herby will no doubt cheer you up. On the flip side, it’s also fantastic for celebrations.
It’s almost a little bit of an outlier in its audaciousness as far as Cognac goes, pushing the boundaries of what the spirit should taste like. And it’s delicious. Because it was distilled very slowly on fine lees, 10 Generations presents a rich and round complexity that is then enhanced with aging in French oak . When I first tasted it, I was taken aback by the pronounced—but not lingering—spice. It was a pleasant surprise.
