Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group acquired the club back in October 2010
Liverpool chief executive Billy Hogan admits that owners Fenway Sports Group didn’t quite realise just how big the Reds were when they acquired the team 13 years ago.
Revenue streams across the board have grown, with the club able to leverage the success delivered in recent seasons under the management of Jurgen Klopp, where every available piece of club silverware on offer has arrived in the Anfield trophy cabinet. Hogan was part of the leadership team that acquired the Reds back in 2010 and has been a part of Liverpool since then, taking on the role of CEO in September 2020, taking over from Peter Moores. Speaking to SportPro Media earlier in the summer at the SportPro APAC Conference in Singapore, Hogan was quizzed on the acquisition of the Reds and the strategy which they continue to rely on.
Hogan says that FSG focus on three core areas at Liverpool in order to try and achieve success, explaining the significant work that had to be undertaken to turn around an ailing club and business 13 years ago, one that had been suffered from a lack of investment in growth.
