A derelict cottage once formed part of an estate with links to the shipping company that launched the Titanic.
Surrounded by 8.5 acres of land, the main house at Thor's Hill and the Chauffeur's Lodge were built for the Morrell family who kept their Rolls-Royce at the lodge. The house and lodge were later bought by Bill Davies who once owned Aintree Racecourse and had properties in Chicago and Barbados. A design access and heritage statement from MF Architecture said: "The existing Chauffer’s Lodge is derelict, with a tree leaning on the roof and several holes in the roof. This disrepair is visible from Telegraph Road and is currently a blight on the conservation area.
