Historic Lake District pub gets magnificent multi-million transformation
A historic Lake District pub has been restored to its angelic best following a 'multi-million' three month-long refurbishment project. The Angel Inn in Bowness-on-Windermere is glowing once again after regaining its halo and angel wings following years in the darkness.
Visitors, diners and guests will now find a classic and cosy country inn, ideal to stop in for a hearty meal and comfortable night's stay following a day of fell walking or lake adventures. The pub's dining and bar area reopened first on December 23, followed by the spruced-up guest rooms on December 27.The venue's interior now boasts design features including a glass roof dining room, plush studded Chesterfield-style leather sofa seating and a vast, chrome-finished bar.
Angel Inn operations manager Paul Brown said: "So it’s nice that we are back to welcoming guests in the build up to the big day this year. We have created a wonderful bar and restaurant that people are going to seek out and enjoy and that is going to be further enhanced when the weather improves, and people can enjoy the great outdoor spaces.
