The Houston Independent School District shared a list on Tuesday with the names of the new principals that will lead the 28 New Education System campuses.
NES is a reform program launched by Superintendent Mike Miles at 28 HISD campuses said to be “priority schools.”The school district said these new principals will impact their campuses and will help prepare students for their careers. 17 of the 28 principals will be going back to their campus. The other principals were hired from HISD or from other locations.
“Principals are the backbone of the work we must do to make HISD a district that prepares all students to achieve at the highest levels,” Superintendent Mike Miles said. “They are talented, courageous educators and I’m excited to support their work.”2. Berry ES – Alvaro Montelongo6. Eliot ES – Cortney Richa-Herbert9. Highland Heights ES – Bettina McKinney12. Kashmere Gardens ES – Marques Collins15. McGowan ES – Stephanie Lugo Velez19.
