Highland Park ISD Superintendent Tom Trigg's impending retirement marks the 11th superintendent to leave their post in North Texas in the past year.

increasingly polarized politics, the challenges educators are grappling with post-pandemic and other stressorsDuring Trigg’s tenure in Highland Park, the district implemented a $361 million bond program, increased staff compensation and earned its highest academic accountability rating from the state in its history, according to a district news release.Board president Tom Sharpe said Trigg’s leadership was as consequential as any superintendent in Highland Park’s history.

“Not only did he manage the on-time completion of the most aggressive building program that this school district has ever had, but also steadily led our staff and community through the unprecedented challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic,” Sharpe said in a statement.
