There is but one contested race this year for a Highland Heights City Council seat, and it is in Ward 2, where incumbent Frank DiLalla faces off against first-time candidate Shekhar Ganore.

With three incumbent Highland Heights City Council members running unopposed, only Ward 2 has a contested race. Incumbent Ward 2 Councilman Frank DiLalla is facing a challenge from first-time candidate Shekhar Ganore.HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ohio -- There is but one contested race this year for a City Council seat, and it is in Ward 2, where incumbent Frank DiLalla faces off against first-time candidate Shekhar Ganore.

“We brought in new businesses ; we have implemented our deer management program, a big issue for our residents; we’ve invested in improvements in infrastructure -- the police and fire departments are under big projects right now ; and we worked with developers to bring in new communities for homes . As for challenges the city has faced, DiLalla said: “We’ve had to manage the city through the pandemic the last four years. That was a very unique time that we needed to be working together, managing our budget very responsibly and ensuring the residents had the support they needed.”

“It’s been an honor to serve the community the last five years,” he said. ”I feeI I have much more to contribute, and I would be humbled to receive vote to continue to work.”Ganore, 45, of Miner Road, is a 14-year Highland Heights resident who works as a senior executive with a medical device firm. When speaking of safety, Ganore said he is specifically talking about the theft of cars from homeowners’ driveways and of belongings that are stolen from residents’ cars.
