Taft scored its first and only touchdown of the game early in the second quarter, when quarterback Johnie Lott launched a pass down the sideline to an uncovered Clay Porter, who bolted 74 yards into the end zone to put the Raiders up, 10-7. The Hawks extended their lead midway through the third quarter when senior running back Jacob Gonzalez dove over the goal line for a two-yard touchdown to make it 20-10. Gonzalez added some insurance for Harlan with a 40-yard touchdown run with six-and-a-half minutes left in the game.
