Breaking news this afternoon
Emergency crews rushed to the scene of a serious crash on the Nottinghamshire border. A heavy police and ambulance presence was also at the scene of the crash.
The incident was reported at around 6.05am in Sookholme Road. Crews from Shirebrook Fire Station and Warsop Fire Stations were sent to the scene of the two-car collision, which caused both vehicles to leave the road, Derbyshire Live reports. One man was trapped in the wreckage and extracted in a joint effort from the Shirebrook crew and Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue. He was then left in the care of East Midlands Ambulance Service.
Pictures released by Shirebook Fire Station show the two black cars seriously damaged. One of the vehicles involved became stuck in nearby woodland. A heavy police and ambulance presence was also at the scene of the crash.
