We spoke to Heartstopper's joelocke03 and kit_connor about the fandom, filming with an intimacy coordinator, and of course, *that* rain scene 🍂☔️
: It's been great. It's been overwhelming in a good way. They're all so supportive. It cushions out the overwhelmingness of it, just how lovely everyone is.: Yeah. It's been so, so supportive, and overly positive. And I think that's one of the great things. By the nature of it being a graphic novel series, we had that amazing fanbase kind of translate over to us. They've all got such a passion about these characters.
I also found the rain scene… Obviously it's such an iconic moment. Even just looking at the trailer, you can kind of see the similarities between the comic and what we did. Kit, what was it like working with Olivia Colman in that coming out scene? What did you learn from her during that process?: It was an amazing scene. I think it's a beautiful scene. Script-wise, I think it's really sort of slightly heartbreaking and then also just so heartwarming at the same time. So going into it, you've already got that great material.
