National Park Service asks guests to please not to lick the toads. The hallucinogenic toxin emitted by the Sonoran desert toad can make you sick.

The National Park Service has a few simple requests for its guests who want to enjoy the outdoors: pick up your trash, be mindful of your campfires and please don’t lick the Sonoran desert toads.

“As we say with most things you come across in a national park, whether it be a banana slug, unfamiliar mushroom, or a large toad with glowing eyes in the dead of night, please refrain from licking,” the agency said in a Facebook post that has now gone viral.that dogs and cats can die if they lick the toad’s toxins and do not receive immediate medical help.

“Now, I don’t think this is going to be a great problem because people don’t go around licking toads as a habit.”
